What it is about...

This workshop is meant to familiarize the children with the avant-garde ballets in Paris as a work of collaboration between musicians, writers and painters. In 1917, to be part of the series of "Les ballets russes" of Sergei Diaghilev, Cocteau wrote "Parade", Satie composed the music and Picasso created the decor and costumes. The children will recreate a mini "Parade" ballet using paper, cardboard and paint.

Meriem Elatra is a self-taught artist painter born in Houston, TX and raised in Algiers, Algeria where she studied Engineering. After a few adventures and an art residency in Portugal and Germany, she became a resident of Maryland in 2016, to live her passion.
