"Inequality, Growth, and Intellectual Property Rights: The Differences between America and Europe”


Marko Klasnja, Dane Taleski, and Kiran Auerbach will be part of a roundtable discussion with Milada Vachudova.

This event is part of the Centre for European Studies 2016 Fall Friday Lecture Series

Kiran Auerbach is a PhD candidate in political science at UNC-Chapel Hill. She holds an MA degree in Democracy and Human Rights in South-East Europe (cum laude), jointly issued by the University of Sarajevo and University of Bologna. Her thesis, “Human Rights Institutions and Peacebuilding: Lessons from Bosnia and Herzegovina for Iraq,” was selected for publication as one of the best theses of the year. Kiran obtained her BA in International Relations from Stanford University.

Marko Klasnja is an assistant professor of political science at Georgetown University, with a joint appointment in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and the Government Department. He specializes in comparative politics, political behavior, and political economy of democratic accountability.

Since October 2015, Dane Taleski has served as a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Southeast European Studies (CSEES) at the University in Graz. He is a passionate advocate for democratic change in post-communist and post-conflict societies in Southeast Europe with over 10 years of experience with research, policy analysis and advocacy projects.

Milada Vachudova is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She specializes in the democratization of postcommunist Europe, the enlargement of the European Union, and the impact of international actors on domestic politics.
