What it is about…
We will begin with a short storytelling performance. Then one of the stories will then be used to create a storyboard which will form the template for the workshop. Mr. Brennan will provide the participants with a number of ways to model a story that will help understand the mechanics of a story. This will include the idea of a story as a journey. He will also explore what the important ingredients are. The group will create a storyboard collectively using a range of props and stimuli to help generate ideas. The idea of journey will be used as an inspiration for the story using different travelling bags as the inspiration for the journey. Mr. Brennan will refer back to the information given to challenge the participants to create the best version of the story that emerges. The participants can take the storyboard back to the class room where they can each write their own version of the story created. Working in this way means that all the participants get to join in and complete the story.
