Sonica Sequence is a film about connecting within the unifying language of music. The Swedish musician Lisa Nordström travels with her electronic instruments to Cuba, Japan, Cyprus and Indonesia to let improvised music form the basis of her encounter with musicians she never met before. From abandoned and overgrown ballrooms, to subways and back alleys unexpected musical encounters take place between people from different cultures. Sonica Sequence proves that it is possible to communicate through music in this open-minded improvisation film that takes you on a global musical journey.

This evening we take off on a journey through an audiovisual live performance - an improvised cinematic session with unique footage and sounds from "Sonica Sequence", that serves as an introduction to the documentary screening that is to follow. We will end up with an extended Q&A, with both Lisa and Pether giving us their insight to the project and their experience. Lisa Nordström on voice, flute and electronics - is an internationally acclaimed musician, composer and music producer based in Gothenburg that has been also a member of the acclaimed electronica duo Midaircondo.

Pether Lindgren on visuals - is a producer with great experience in booking international acts for the Malmö music scene and has since 2002 been operating the record company ajabu!.
