2017 marks the fifth year of the European Month of Culture (EUMC), a month-long festival of events for the American public highlighting the diverse cultures of the 28 EU Member States. It is held during the month of May to coincide with Schuman Day. Innovative cultural programming includes musical performances, dance, lectures, theatrical performances, panel/symposiums, workshops, film screenings, language classes, culinary demonstrations, art and other exhibits. Most events are free.
