Art Tour & Documentary Premier Screening: Siri Berg (Sweden)

Join us for an evening of art, film and talks to learn more about Swedish abstract artist Siri Berg, currently exhibited at House of Sweden! The evening will include a tour of Berg's current retrospective exhibition Statements curated by Peter Hioyas, a screening of a documentary about Siri called  In Color by DIrector Sara Jegeman and a talk back and Q&A session with Jegerman.

Siri Berg is a 97-year-old artist born in Stockholm, Sweden now based in New York. Since the 1960’s painter and multi-media artist Siri Berg has worked with a geometric abstraction, one both strictly reduced and rich in variation and the visually unexpected. The exhibition provides an exclusive access to a selection of Berg’s vintage and new paintings, offering a different investigative look at the varied interests and aesthetic experimentations of Berg’s career.

Sara Jegeman is a Swedish independent filmmaker and the founder and owner of film production company Jegenauer Productions. In this documentary Sara Jegeman meets abstractionist artist Siri Berg, a master at colors and gradations. Join Siri Berg and her apprentice, the curator and collector and learn about a spectacular journey of mind and of art creation where the possibilities and interpretations are endless.
