Room for Children - Children’s Literacy and Creativity
Newly updated with new books, games, and crafts, the Room for Children is a Swedish library and arts studio for children aged 0-10 years designed to stimulate their desire for books, music, storytelling and self-expression. A child's perspective is applied throughout, from the greeting to the interior design and the way books are placed and displayed.
Adults and children are encouraged to engage in quality play and learning time together. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is the philosophical cornerstone of Room for Children; we strive to create a space in which children can participate fully in cultural life, express themselves freely, and co-create experiences with others. Room for Children pushes the boundaries of what a library can be.
Storytime Sessions are offered every Saturday at 2 pm for families to experience Swedish children's literature. The sessions are held in Room for Children. FREE admission. No registration is required.
This is the first ever international mini version of a Room for Children outside of Sweden. In partnership with: Swedish Institute and Kulturhuset/Stadsteatern Stockholm. www.kulturhusetstadsteatern.se/English/Libraries
Opening hours: Saturdays & Sundays 12 pm – 5 pm. Free admission and guide on site.
