Classical Music and Folklore: Exploration of National Identity


Hristina Blagoeva (flute), Miles Massoccote (piano), and Christopher Graham (percussion)

A unique concert featuring rhythmically driven classical music inspired and influenced by the folklore of Hungary, Bulgaria, Old Byzantine, the USA and other countries. The program will include compositions by Carl Reinecke, Bella Bartok, Seth Bonstead, Joseph Pereira as well as the premiere performances of works by the Bulgarian composers Krasimir Kurkchiiski and Kostadin Genchev.

Admission is first come, first serve.

This concert is part of the 2017 European Month of Culture and is a co-presentation of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Music Society.
