The EIC SME Instrument will be promoting its cutting edge European Smart Tech SMEs at CES 2018, taking place from 9 to 12 January in Las Vegas.
The EIC SME Instrument will have a booth at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to showcase 15 cutting-edge European Smart Tech innovators supported by the SME Instrument – Overseas Trade Fairs (OTF) programme, funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020.
As the global stage for innovation, featuring more than 3,900 exhibiting companies unveiling technologies, products and services that touch every industry, CES 2018 will offer unrivalled opportunities for the 15 small and medium sized European Smart Tech companies to promote their innovative technologies from 9 to 12 January 2018.
Visitors are welcome to attend products launches and live demonstrations, and to join discussions with the companies on the European Smart Tech booth in the inaugural CES Smart Cities Hall, at the Westgate. Their technologies have applications in smart cities sectors ranging from Transportation & Mobility, to Homes & Buildings and Monitoring & Security. Business meetings can be scheduled through the CES Exhibitor platform or by contacting the OTF team directly. The Smart Cities hall is expected to attract many visitors in this space, both for the exhibit area and the conference programme featuring thought leaders in Smart Cities.
The objective of the SME Instrument - OTF programme is to support innovative small and medium-sized companies to target overseas markets, in this case the US, and allow them to leverage promising business opportunities. “We are thrilled to have a European booth of 15 SMEs participating for the first time at CES. These SMEs are highly innovative businesses with global ambitions that have the potential to disrupt established value networks and markets”, said Dr Bernd Reichert, Head of Unit, Executive Agency for SMEs of the European Commission.
Over the SME Instrument – OTF programme’s first yearly cycle, an exclusive group of 86 European companies have participated, and held more than 1000 business meetings with selected counterparts at 7 major trade fairs around the world. More information about the programme and the 15 European Smart Tech companies present at CES 2018 can be found on the SME Instrument - OTF website.
