EXHIBITION | Christoph Palaschke

austrian

The ACFDC presents the Austrian artist Christoph Palaschke's first solo show FACES 2.0 in the US. The exhibition gives an indication of the work of the artist in the field of portrait painting in the last 15 years. With exhibits ranging from abstraction of the spatula technique and photorealist portraits in coal and acrylic, abstract and reduced portraits to shadow portraits from his latest series Face to Face the show represents well-balanced overview of the artist's oeuvre.

Christoph Palaschke was born in Vienna in 1974. He spent his early childhood in Carinthia and now lives and works in Vienna. His first presentations and prominent exhibitions happened between 1999 and 2001. In 2003 he moved into his new atelier at the "Wiener Heumarkt". Coming from abstract painting his first portraits originated from around 2004. At the same time he had his first prominent exhibition in the Viennese "Museumsquartier" ("Shift of Paradigms"). Several exhibitions in the Ukraine and a two-year exhibition tour in Egypt followed which made Palaschke's work known throughout the whole country. Palaschke was the first Austrian artist who was able to present his exhibition in the famous Alexandrian Library at the Egyptian Mediterranean Sea. Since 2005 Palaschke is present with a permanent exhibition in the VIP-Lounges at the Vienna International Airport. Steady challenge is more important than daily routine. Constant development is far more important than self-satisfied stagnation.
