Luxembourg: Come Make Some Verwuerelter

Come Make Some Verwuerelter

What exactly is Verwuerelter? It's a delicious Luxembourgish delicacy that's often served during carnival season, mirroring the doughnuts and funnel cake that are similar in America. For this Europe Day, we will bring you the "Cool Kitchen" recipe of how to make Verwuerelter, with a video of how to do it! Meanwhile, you will also be able to access original Luxembourgish poetry, films, and virtual tours of native sites.

Esch sur Alzette: Entire Film online

Pearl or Pica - Esch sur Alzette, steel city in the south of Luxembourg, in 1962. Norbi is a twelve-year-old boy, no longer a child, but not really a teenager either. The film tells of Norbi's attempts to deal with the fears and problems of his age and time - a time characterized by the Cold War, the aftermath of the occupation of Luxembourg by the Nazis, parental and school authority, and catholic morality.
