Join the Delegation of the European Union to the United States for the Opening of the LOVE HATE sculpture in Farragut Square.

On November 9 at 2 PM, join the Delegation of the European Union, the German Embassy and the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District for the Opening of Mia Florentine Weiss’ sculpture LOVE HATE in the United States. After extensively traveling through Europe, the larger-than-life 1.5 ton metal sculpture has crossed the Atlantic for the first time to stimulate social dialogue and promote peace, landing in Washington DC’s Farragut Square. Following its DC appearance, the sculpture will be featured at the 2022 South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.

The celebrations will kick off with remarks by EU Ambassador Stavros Lambrinidis and German Ambassador Emily Haber, followed by an exclusive interview with the artist by social sculptor, Philippa Hughes. The audience will then be invited to participate in a though-provoking 'Happening in 3 acts.' Guest will then enjoy complementary hot beverages and European bites while writing their own messages for love and peace to be placed on the sculpture. We hope to see you there!
