Poland: Wreath laying at the Kosciuszko Monument in Lafayette Square

Kosciuszko

Ceremony honoring General Thaddeus Kosciuszko

On October 15, the 200th anniversary of General Thaddeus Kosciuszko's passing, we invite you to join us in paying tribute to Thaddeus Kosciuszko: Brigadier General in the Continental Army, hero of Saratoga, designer of West Point, champion of freedom, promoter of tolerance, purest son of liberty.

To commemorate Kosciuszko, his contributions to American independence and his lasting legacy of equality, we will gather in Lafayette Square by the statue of General Thaddeus Kosciuszko near the White House.

The event will include remarks by representatives of the Polish and American government, as well as a performance by the United States Army Band followed by a wreath laying.

All members of the public are warmly invited to join us as we pay tribute to our hero of two nations. Zapraszamy!

This event marks the conclusion of our Year of Kosciuszko commemorations.
