Protecting Human Rights in a Changing World: Challenges and Best Practices from an EU Perspective

Join USIP on Tuesday, February 13th, 11-12:30pm for a discussion with Stavros Lambrinidis, the European Union's Special Representative for Human Rights.

Protecting human rights and strengthening the rule of law is critical to establishing sustainable peace and security. This interactive discussion will shed light on best practices in protecting human rights in uncertain times, including a focus on the use of various tools the European Union uses bilaterally and with international partners. Topics discussed will range from promoting freedom of religion to effectively protecting Human Rights defenders in the face of closing civic and political space.
