Finland, as the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will be hosting a special event during the Kids Euro Festival 2019. You can experience live performances, storytelling and episodes from the Moominvalley TV show at the Embassy of Finland. There will be activities for children of all ages (incl. a playing corner with toys, books and drawing) as well as food and refreshments.
The main performances during the event are:
Frogpond from Finland
“Do not run around with trash and soil, for you never know, whose home it might spoil”. Dance theatre performance about the importance of clean water. Frog Molly returns to her birth pond for a big family reunion, but finds out that her beloved home is spoiled. How can little Molly save her friend and home? Perhaps she needs some help, maybe from the audience. For children 4 years and above.
Balloons from Estonia
Balloons is a melodic, fantasy-rich and playful production about a little girl who has a very spirited grandmother and a colorful fantasy world. Instead of verbal expression, the actors make sounds, talk and sing, but not in any existing language. For children 5 years and above.
Folk tales from Hungary
Folk tale is the art of live speech. While folk tales have structure and script, they are constantly shaped to accommodate the listeners’ age and atmosphere. Folk tales are used not just to entertain but also to educate people. For children 6 years and above.
Episodes from the Moominvalley TV show (Finland)
Moominvalley is a new TV adaptation of writer-illustrator Tove Jansson’s classic and much-loved stories about the white, hippo-like Moomins. As we follow the story of Moomintroll’s growth and encounters with his family and friends, we learn more about our own humanity, relationships and emotions – and especially about love. Moominvalley is a TV show with many positive messages! For children of all ages.
