This year’s Kids Euro Fest brings a special guest…the Moomins!

Moomins, the beloved fairytale creatures living in Moominvalley and created by iconic Finnish author Tove Jansson, are the subject of a visiting exhibition at National Children’s Museum in Washington, DC until January 9, 2022. The Moomin family and their friends live an adventurous life in the idyllic and peaceful Moominvalley. The exhibition presents Moomin animations from different eras and parts of the world, from the very first Moomin film to premiere on TV in 1959 to the most recent, award-winning 3D animated TV series, Moominvalley (2019). Along the way, you’ll explore the universal values of the Moomins, such as equality, inclusion, kindness, and respect for nature. You can also leave your own message of kindness for others to see.

As a special treat for this Kids Euro Fest, there will be 100 free tickets per day available on October 10, October 16 (including a special session with Moominvalley episode director Jay Grace), October 17, and October 24. The Sunday events will also feature possibilities to meet the Moomintroll at 10:30, 11:30, 2:30 and 3:30!

You can register to receive your free ticket either for the morning or for the afternoon via the button below. You must be located in the DMV area to be qualified; maximum four tickets per person available. If you are not able to use the tickets, please kindly email so your ticket(s) can be released to other guests. Tickets are going fast—click below to register!

Not located in DC? No worries! We’ll bring the Moomins straight to your home with a plethora of themed activities accessible online anytime during the Kids Euro Fest (October 9-30). Browse the upcoming activities by clicking the button below!
